Forgive

by Strange Angel   Nov 16, 2006

They call it pathetic fallacy
But I guess this is real life.
Either way it's just as pathetic as before
But if my heart was scribbled across the sky
The clouds would open up and scream
Shout and curse and cry
Until all is blood
And heat and anger.

Thunder splitting your skull
So loud you cannot hear it
Simply feel it fill your carcass as it deafens you.
Lightening streak across the sky
In burning, jagged lines.
This rain would not fall so sweetly to the ground
But pound
And boil and burn through the earth
To reveal its bloody heart
Naked, exposed and raw.

This night may be full of storm clouds,
But it is no reflection of this anger.
This guilt and pain and loss.
I know that in the morning
The sun will show her dreary head
And all I can do is hope and wish and pray
That you will forgive me.
