Their Victim (Holocaust)

by melly xx   Nov 16, 2006

Bystander: I am a bystander

Victim: I am a victim that has survived

Bystander: I was afraid to speak out

Victim: We were afraid to speak our minds

Bystander: I wanted to help

Victim: Nobody would listen to our cries

Bystander: But I was selfishly afraid

Victim: How could they sit back and do nothing?

Bystander: Helping meant putting my life in jeopardy

Victim: We were being sent to our death beds

Bystander: I was in denial

Victim: They werent clueless

Bystander: Im ashamed of myself

Victim: My people were being starved, tortured, and murdered

Bystander: I regret it now

Victim: All because we were Jewish

first of thanks for your comments. Glad i made you smile. Secondly i have never came across a poem like this. I love the way it is from two different points of view and you get the story across really well. Very tragic and brilliant write.
