I try to scream in agony-
I can't,
Silence echoes in the room

I try to shout for help-
I can't,
No one comes to my aid

I try to cry my tears out-
I can't,
Cheeks stay dry

I try to let pain go-
I can't,
Overwhelms my mind

I try to free myself-
I can't,
Trapped in this life

I try to look for beautiful things-
I can't,
Only destruction lies in sight

I try to see light-
I can't,
Darkness is all that is

I try to feel happiness-
I can't,
Nothing stirs inside

I try to find strength-
I can't,
Weakness withers me within

I can't scream,

I can't shout,

I can't cry,

I can't let go,

I can't free myself,

I can't look,

I can't see,

I can't feel,

I can't find strength

No one sees my struggles;
Trapped deep within,
I can't show.
