The Bitterness of a Forgottten Tale

by The Queen of Spades   Nov 17, 2006

The bitterness of a forgotten tale
When smiles were expected
Love had a shred of validity
And life still tasted sweet

Now the frowns overcome
Hearts are overturned
The grace of what had meaning
Is as simple as a lie

In this land of destroyed joys
Even the smallest creature
Takes pride in its violence
And smell reflects flavor, sour

The tastes still linger quietly
A disconcertingly haunting aroma
That tells of envy, falsehoods, and pain
The bitterness of a forgotten tale
