Robin Hood [Thief of My Heart] As told by Maid Marian

by Twisted Heart   Nov 17, 2006

Oh Robin Hood, I see you, yonder
Upon the edge of dark forest green
Upon your horse you sit so proudly
In moonlight's caste, so serene.

My heart has found a home in you
Seek not the tempted fool of face
But stand and give to all beyond
The penance of thy love and grace.

King John has stole the faith of poor
His hands are full, the coins of gold
No food to eat, no clothes to wear
No home secure to fight the cold.

King Richard, is too far to see
The torment that has come to pass
And King John is at this moment
Planning for a surprise attack.

So, sweet love, I beg you, please
Don't come to find my love tonight
Make haste into the dark forest green
And keep thee far from my sight.

Remember, love, I will find you
When King Richard's back in power
And though, I won't see your face
My heart will miss you every hour.

For just as surely as you saved us
With bow in hand, and arrow sharp
You tipped the seconds that was gave us
Pulled back the string and pierced my heart.

Loved the perspective you did this from. I entered one for Peter Pan, but simply narrated it. You did great!
