Racism

How can you ask
Only one group of people
To embark upon a task
In changing the world?

Times are changing
And the hate is still here
There are no more hangings
But now it is a different group of people

How can you say
That you are a better race
When statistics show
That that is nay

You say you hate racism
But you mean directed at yourself
You could care less
About any white person.

I am the minority where I live
And the majority are so ignorant
They ask and ask and take and take
But never give.

If I called you that hated word
I know I would probably be dead
Yet you call you \\\"friends\\\" that
You let the ignorance get to your head

Why do you hate me?
I am Irish.
I bet you didn\\\'t know
We had it worse even than you.

How is it possible
That you say you hate
All the racism but
But the names you call me are hateful?

Society has it wrong
You say that the minority
Must be respected
Rather you must say the minority must be respectful!

You say that I am not worthy of her
Not because I am evil
But because I am a white woman
How can you be sure?

You don\\\'t know me
I\\\'m just like the rest?
I know what its like to be free!
Show you?

No.
Not after the way you treated me
Let that be a lesson
Don\\\'t say anything before you see.

I could have taught you much
But now I refuse
Because of the hatred you harbor
I know I would only be used
