Beauty

by Lindsay   Nov 19, 2006

((I am not too proud of this one)

Nothing of true beauty
lasts forever.
Save,
perhaps,
some architecture,
mostly marble,
that grows more beautiful as it falls to pieces,
its crumbling foundation swathed in ivy.

Women,
grow old,
models and housewives alike.
When they do,
who can tell,
which one had been more beautiful?

Hmm.. An intresting read. i dont know but i feel as thought this has something missing.. though i do think that the secound stanza has quite a bit of truth in it. I mean you've got a point, nothing stays beautiful physically. I liked that bit about the poem. The first stanza just made me think, this is a different poem. Yet i liked it because of the secound stanza. Keep writing! xx
