Drunk Driving

by Raychil   Nov 19, 2006

I walk slowly through the hall
As people sit crying on the floor
Some lonely eyes are bloodshot and red
From tears cried the night before

I don't think I'll understand
But I'll continue to wonder why
God thought that it was time
For this young man to die

I passed some people up the stairs
And bumped into a few
They didn't seem to even notice
They just kept walking right on through

I guess things have to happen sometimes
To wake the world again
Even if in the process
We have to feel some pain

I walked over to my locker
And what I saw caused a tear to fall
There were papers everywhere
And posters taped on the wall

I read the quotes by him,
He must've made life worth his while
Because his words were wise and hopeful
"If you're living then you should smile."

I solemnly walked away
There was only one thing I could think
It's not just the family that loses
But everyone when you drive and drink.

*my brother's friend died recently because he was drinking and driving and got into a car crash...he was only 17..
