This Girl

by Laura   Nov 19, 2006

There she goes again,
walking steady down the hall,
her fake smile fooling everyone,
but in this case, I saw.
She thinks she's fooling me,
as she hugs me saying Hi,
I worry so much about this girl,
& she just doesn't get why.
I don't know how she does it,
putting on that smile everyday,
laughing & joking on the outside,
making it seem as if thing's are OK.
Her home life is rough & brutal,
& she doesn't have that great of a past,
but oh it doesn't stop there,
her pain, it always lasts.
Physical to emotional,
she goes through it all,
she's so bent & broken,
her heart's nailed against the wall.
Upon her face, there lies a mask,
& she wears it everyday,
I'm guessing there's a sort of comfort,
as it hides her pretty face.
But if you look, you will see,
you'll find to your surprise,
this sweet looking lonely girl,
has hurt inside her eyes.
She been pushed to the limit,
as she rocks back on her heals,
I don't think I'll ever understand,
the pain this poor girl feels.
I have nothing more to offer,
my arms no longer ease her pain,
I just pray every night,
for God to stop this awful game.
One day it will all be over,
there's got to be some kind of end,
maybe all this girl needs,
is a better best friend.
