Something We Cannot Perceive

by Daenerys Stormborn   Nov 19, 2006

An empty prism of this cadaver
Lies in the earth and slowly gathers
Something we cannot perceive
So you, you may take my leave
This ground has begun to crack
Turning into charcoal, shining black
Burnt by the integrity of vultures
Preying upon the darkened cultures
Grouped in a circle of tragedy
A white line holds in their plea
Witchcraft of a thousand ages
Sorcery of a thousand sages
Something we cannot perceive
So you, you make take my leave
Into the path of a newborn child
Stalked by wolves rabid and wild
The awakening to the overslept
Demons haunt his every step
But he bares the burdens boldly
As they twist their backs coldly
The white feather in the bleakness
Denied by our gathered weakness
Still he drags his feet onward
Battling devils with a rusted sword
Though we scorn his blistered heart
He moves for worlds apart
Slowly one by one they follow
With spirits no longer hollow
Filling with something of grief
In shadows with eyes and teeth
Something we cannot perceive
So you, you may take my leave
Their minds set upon growth
Sworn to the unbreakable oath
Protect the one who leads us
The one we ridiculed with trust
Risen from the cracked ground
To break this spell once unbound
A hero with scars from the whips
Breath upon his swollen lips
Redeemed by those who believe
Those who stand, and do not grieve
Something we cannot perceive
So you, you may take my leave
