You Left Me Behind

by Tessa   Nov 19, 2006

Night time shadows fall at our feet
Moonlights shines upon our heads
Woods that hide our secrets
Take my hand, let's go

Somewhere an owl hoots midnight
Night animals look at us with wide symphathetic eyes
As if they know what will happen
As if they would know, as if they would know

Let's go over the bridge
(The fallen oak breathes in our footsteps)
Don't fall to the water below
Dark and churning, it churns with force
Lead me further into the woods

Footprints sink into the mud
Dropping all common sense along the way
Hand me the bottle
Drink it, drink it all down
Fire burns its way down my throat
You are gone

Looking around
Where am I? Am I alone?
Did you leave me?
But there's no chance
You can't leave if you were never here
You weren't here for me
You left me
And I am alone
