Don't ever say goodbye

by Nameless Useless   Nov 20, 2006

Though the night calls me home once again.
Fear not because I will always be in your heart and mind.
So remember Don't say goodbye this Isn't the end.
Remember me fondly and with a kind thought and sigh.

Farewells never last long a quick second and they are gone.
Do not stand on your steps and watch my back fade first to gray then to black.
The hardest farewell is the longest but remember a quick second like a ripple in a pond.
Fear not the blackness that will swallow my form that hides me from your eyes remember I will be back.

So now I stand here at your home in front of a door I have forever longed to enter
But yet I feel the night calling me and I must attend to it like a spouse long away
When I see you I again I promise I will make you laugh with the songs of the winter
I turn to the night and the invisible path leading me to where I belong I ask the night to show me the way.

As I turn I see your figure standing there watching my back retreat into the darkness and my heart is sad
But I will not remember the good-bye never spent. I will remember the fun and games of young life.
Once out of the abyss to see you and all of my friends once more my soul so black will maybe be glad.
My life is a tempest of confusion with nothing to offer a friend except a mourners dress and days of strife

I stand at the edge of darkness and ponder the journey I must take to go and to come back.
I take the first step on my way into a new journey yet one I am forced to take over and over again
what I will find when I return maybe an old friend whose heart has turned so black?
So the path is set ,I am ready to go and I smile as I cast off the Chains
