Radiance

by InvisibleManiac   Nov 20, 2006

I wake up again at the bottom of this pit
It's so cold, damp and barely lit
But it's the place that I've called home
For as long as I can remember

I look up with cold unblinking eyes
Wondering if I'll ever see another sunrise
It's not long before I hear them
Hear the voices of my Friends

I cower in the corner dreading what they'll do today
All the hurtful things they do and say
It ends up being far worse than I expected
And as they leave I lie dying on the ground

Then suddenly I hear a different voice
She offers me another choice
I look round to see the owner of this angelic voice
And there glowing with a divine radiance is you

You take my hand and help me up out of the hole
I feel so alive as your touch revives my dead soul
You pull me close kissing me gently
And my heart begins beating once more

You wrap your wings around me and lift me into the sky
Smiling at me you tell me I'll never again have to cry
I wrap my arms around you and rest my head against yours
As we fly ever higher

I turn and I ask you where we are heading
A place that can only be reached on angel wing
I'm taking you to our heaven you say
And as we disappear beyond the clouds I know this is forever
