The Music That We Play

by Mousie   Nov 20, 2006

The day it passes by
In a tune of pure dismay,
Of morbid tongue and wretched lies
The music that we play.

An unwelcome crime of passion
for a love that once has failed,
The madness of a jealous hate
Does certainly prevail.

Our greed for luscious power
And our need to selves sustain,
We've turned against the word of God
And caused a grevious pain.

Why no love or charity
Or the hopeful gift of praise?
We cannot hear the harmony
Over the music that we play.

hopefully you all get this poem! let me know, r/r/c!! thanks so much

I liked it and it reminded me of my poem 'why has this happened?". There was a nice flow and it was lovely.*5/5*

    "The day it passes by"
[I think you should add a comma after 'The day', for a slight pause.]

This is much better poetry from you. The flow was excellent and the rhymes were awesome. Really good insight, and very interesting piece. This is more like your work.

This was a very interesting write. I really like the metaphor that you used in this, very imaginative idea. The first stanza was really good and set the whole tone for the poem. You had great word usage in this. The words practically rolled off my tongue in a great flow. 5/5!! Keep it up!

The message I got out of this poem is that we have taken everything that is pure and ruined it, we dance to our own music, and we could careless what anybody else is playing. anyway 5/5 for sure excellent write
