She sat battered and bruised Upon the cold wood floor Her body shivered with pain It couldnt stand no more Her eyes were blood shot From all the crying she did She had put up with this abuse Since she was a kid Now she's 16 With no life to live To get away from here Oh what she would give She's took some pills She's did some drugs She's went and got drunk For she's been without love She's cried so much That she's passed out She's starved herself And did without She hasn't laughed In lord knows how long She knows what's happening Is all so wrong She goes to school She has no friends Her nightmare stays It never ends People call her names If they only knew If they would only realize Her life has been through Her mother is an alcoholic Her dad, she grew to hate They are the cause of all her pain She's the one he rapes She knows that life could be better She knows that she could leave She knows that pain don't have to exist But she finds it hard to believe Hatred grows within her Her anger is in her heart She wants to send them straight to hell But don't know where to start But instead she prays forgiveness And for the Lord to make it right She gets on her knees after he dad's through, And she prays to him everynight Sixteen years old and she tells no one Her dad will never pay Until she's eighteen and finds the strength, In this home she will stay She feels no love for her parents They are strangers to her now She wants to leave this God awful place But she just don't know how She looks up towards heaven "Lord if it be your will, Take my troubles away from me, Make my pain be still." At that moment a knock came at the door A social worker stood outside "I've come to take your daughter away, Now please sir, step aside" The woman took her hand As her father watched her go She was ridded of this pain forever It would never be more She closed her eyes and thanked the Lord "Thank you for setting me free" She kept her faith when she came close To fallin into insanity
