The True You

by kadee   Nov 21, 2006

Time goes slow
People pause
Where did you go
What was the cause
They heard the gunshot
They watched the news
They dont understand
Christians sit in the pews
Praying for them
Praying for you
Sitting in a corner
Gun in hand
Praying for forgiveness
Because blood was in demand
Wanting to go back
Wanting to change it
Imagining your body
Rocking bock and forth in a darkening pit
Crying
Screaming
Praying
Pleading
Wanting
Wishing
Hoping
Forming
A plan, an idea any way out
Taking that gun
And looking about
You toss it aside
You stand up straight
Turn around
Looking with hate
Staring in the mirror
Staring at your true self
Picking up that phone
Dialing a number
Tell your mom.
Tell her you love her
Hanging it up
Picking up that gun
Sitting in a chair
Pulling that trigger
Thinking this is fair.
