One Friend

I wish I had a friend
one person on whom I could depend
one person who will understand my pain
one person who will walk with me, through the thunder and rain
one person who will comfort me and look for monsters under my bed.
one person who wont laugh at me,
as they slowly shake their head.
one person who will love me,
as I'm able to love.
one person who will sit with me,
and look at the stars above.
one person who will hold me tight
after the cold lonesome night
one person who would care for me,
as I long to care for them.
I could be happy at my life's end,
if I had just one true friend.
