Let My Child Find Peace

by Arlene Remy   Nov 21, 2006

Who are the women that gave birth to these children
whom the earth is so begging to claim
how the earth long for that thick red moisture
and the tears of the lover of the slain
Even at birth I heard his mother screaming
she knew the pain even from the start
she must have longed to keep him inside of her
where no one could break his heart

She saw the demonds that entered his life
and cried when the street called his name
could have done nothing to convince him to stay
when anger ran through his very vein
she felt for him when his father turned his back
she pleaded his case when the world showed him hate
but how long could she help him hold on
when she herself was loosing faith

Now the cries of the ground has been answered
and hyprocrite tears pretend to care
as his cold limb body lies robbed of life
with the dreams he never got a chance to share
The cold lonely earth claims his body
and who claims his soul? nobody knows
but his mother's silent prayer we often heard
let my child find peace where ever he goes
