Mom!

I try to be perfect
I try to make you proud
Mom I know I'm not the greatest,
But I'm doing what I can.

Mom I know you want more from me
I know you want me to be better
But I'm sorry I didn't turn out the way
You wanted me to be.

Mom I'm writing this poem
to show you that I care
to show you that I know
and that I am aware.

I see it in your eyes
In the tone of your voice
In the way you seem to smile,
and hug me once awhile.

I wanna show you that I'm trying
that I really do love you
that I'm proud to be your daughter
to have you as my mother!
