A Star and His Moon

by Rustedwings   Nov 22, 2006

The moon, so clear is her brilliance,
beheld by a star.
He deems to draw nearer,
though his core she may mar.

He calls out to her,
"Moon, oh blesses moon,
I have seen your darkness
as if it were light.
Thus have been robbed
of all other sight.

I've learned you're not simply the moon,
reflecting such light,
but the sun in itself,
staving off night.

Will you condemn,
this star in the sky,
so close to his moon,
yet so far now, to die?"
