The Keeper of My Heart

by Thomas A Michel   Nov 22, 2006

The keeper of my heart
Stands with keen vigilance;
Sheltering me in his arms
Watching over me with diligence.

When he is near to me
No pain or anguish appears.
My heart is in his keeping
He protects it from all fears.

He offers me comfort and joy
Whenever we are together.
When I feel pain and despair,
He is my hearts protector.

What he has found in me
I will never understand.
But he had the courage,
To touch my soul's wasteland.

Through thick and through thin
He stands here beside me.
Shoulder to shoulder we stand,
Facing whatever is to be.
