My soul is mistaken
but my heart is in the right place
my body is stiffened with this feeling
but my heart is still beating
i get swept away by my own emotions
stuck in a barren place to find the right path
for no soul has endured such abuse
but i have to leave,
for soon it will be my turn
they will search for me
but my soul will be gone
my body will linger
i will be free at last
free from ridicule, free from hurt
free from verbal abuse
my body is cold
but my heart will beat forever
it will beat to the drum of welcome
i will be filled with peace
and my body will finally beat to it's own drum
and not to the drum of depression
