The Deadly Solution

by Jackie*   Nov 22, 2006

A lonely girl
is trapped inside her mind.
Held prisoner
by a monster inside.
She's lost and afraid,
she can't find a way out,
of her sadness and fear,
and guilt and self-doubt.
Starving was supposed to help
free her from it all.
But the monster kept on pushing,
until she hit the wall.
It preyed upon her weaknesses,
put obsessions in her head.
And now she can take no more,
she's hanging on by a thread.
She tries to please the monster,
she starves her body longer.
She's tired of fighting against it,
it just seems to get only stronger.
She's giving up now,
she's lost all sense of hope.
She wonders how it would be to die
by hanging herself with a rope.
She doesn't want to go on living,
she wishes she was dead.
If she had a gun,
she'd shoot a bullet in her head.
She comes up with a plan
to end the torture once & for all.
She grabs a bottle of pills,
and swallows them with alcohol.
She waits in her room,
as the drugs slowly kick in.
And she picks up the razor,
and slices deep into her skin.
The blood pours out,
and she stares into the mirror.
All the times she wanted help,
no one could hear.
Now she falls to the floor
and she starts to cry.
Life is leaving her now,
she's finally going to die.
She lies in her blood
and takes her last breath.
She closes her eyes,
and welcomes her death.
It comes without pain,
but she still wasn't freed.
The monster is laughing,
it was the one to succeed.
