It's Not Worth It

F it can be broken,
what is its use?
Mine has been shattered,
and withstood much abuse!

It has been ripped and torn,
broken and beaten,
shunned and rejected,
and turned away with its wounded beat.

Its now hurting with pain everyday.
I opened it up to let it feel love,
but that just left my poor heart feeling battered.
So now its hiding it can do without that sort of love.

When love its given its a wonderful gift,
and then fate seems sealed with one little kiss.
But love can be false, masked and untrue,
ill take my own advice and give it a miss.

It might seem lonely cold and sad,
but that is nothing to pain it endured.
Love is too risky and the scars remain,
my poor little heart is permanently injured.

I feel so tired.
I'm ready to throw in the towel,
and take cold comfort in this simple fact.
With love in my life or without.

What is meant to be....
will be!
