Shes Only seven

To my daughter whos only seven years old
in her heart shes hurting the pain she seems to hold

She yelled at me last night she made me want to cry
I couldn't face the fact that her daddy said goodbye

She told me to get over it he will never change
coming from a seven year old I didn't feel the same

She told me that she hates him and that he is not her dad
hearing those words come out of her just made me feel so sad

I could see her anger and the hurt inside her eyes
to see her heart broken just made me want to die

Coming from a seven year old she seemed to face the fact
that you don't even care you show it by the way you act

She told me don't you call him I never want to see him ever
she said hes the one that left and the reason your not together

I felt so bad inside I didn't know what to say
her anger is growing stronger with each passing day

She told me he doesn't care he just left us by ourselves,
In her words I knew how much pain she has felt

She told me if he loved us he'd be here everyday
I just sat there and stayed quiet and didn't know what to say

She told me this is our family now its just us four
that hes no longer her dad and that she doesn't love him anymore

So To my daughter who's only seven I love you baby girl, you, your brother and your sister are my entire world
