Journey of a Tear drop

by Arlene Remy   Nov 22, 2006

One day a single tear left my eye
its destination the cold hard floor
then memories of times crept through my mind
threatening to open my hearts door
As it passed my nose bridge I remembered my father
and his back which I so often see
empty promises echoed through my head
I hoping one day he will love me

It passed my mouth and reached my chin
A disappointment my mother will always say
you must do better its not enough
hope she'll learn to accept me someday
I remembered my brothers misconception of love
as the tear dripped pass my shoulder
confusion and chaos ran through my mind
but I understand it now that I am older

when it passed my breast it touched my heart
and love rushed into my mind
nineteen years I have been searching for it
and this love thing i still cant find
It passed my navel my virginity is gone
and along with it went my pride
what was once just rumors now the truth
now from the world I want to hide

when it passed my knee i remembered heartbreak and pain
as it reached my shin I closed the door
I promised myself never to cry again
and my teardrop hit the floor

Wow...that was a VERY unique idea for a poem on tears. I really enjoyed that. Very sad though...
