Killing me slowly

by Brittany C   Nov 22, 2006

I see the way you look at her,
It kills me deep inside.
There's that twinkle in your eye
That was once there for me,

It hurts me to see you holding hands
As you pass me by.
What did I do to lose your love?
I will probably never know.
Does she have something that I don't?
Why would leave me for her?

I still love you
And always will.
I won't get in the way,
Of your perfect romance,

It kills me slowly,
But I don't care,
I will never love again.
I have no reason to live now
that you are not a part of my life.

You were the one reason,
I kept fighting,
My only true reason too.
Just understand that when I die,
it was because you broke my heart.
I hope you're happy, you lying cheat.

This is so deep. It touches me so much. sometimes it's hard to let go off the one we love and that causes great pain. i hope it's not your case. Being this poem touches me, i will forget about some corrections that should be made, i give it a 4.9/5, kel.

Wow, I think you portrayed the tenderness along with the hate very well.
The contrast was good, and made the poem interesting.
I enjoyed it, and I thought the emotions and effort really carried this piece.

    5.5.

  • I can relate to this extremely. But, honestly the flow was off bad and hard to follow but the word choice was good, as was the emotion. For that I give a 4/5

I must admit I was wondering why you were being so accepting at the beginning saying that 'its all fine' and 'dont worry about me' type attitude and I was waiting for your real emotions to come exploding out and then... in the end... I got to see that raw anger, betrayal and jealousy come out in your final words.

    :) Good on you.
