YOUR NOT ALONE

We are a people of damaged hearts full of pain
we take peoples snide remarks as they look at us with disdain

we adapt to the world but they have a fear of change and difference
i grew up like this and Ive been through heartache ever since

you are not alone there is young children dealing with rape
they runaway in their minds planning out some brave escape

they are stuck in a broken home with no way out
they create a shell as they are beaten not understanding what all this is about

most of the time they are left alone w/nothing to eat
as a young child even they feel defeat

never going to school because no one is ever nice there
and they think i dont need to go i dont have a mom or dad that will care

my generation is a lost hope so we are told
but they are just now supposedly realizing whats goin on as lives unfold

heartbroken with no parents and so much pain is a sickness with no cure
we always get in trouble just because we feel insecure

we are a people who are in sorrow we are pains slave
maybe you should look at our lives before you punch me in the face and scream at me because i didn\'t behave

i am one of these people i know there are more
i know what it feels like to hurt to the core

so please hold on we will all survive
because look at all of us who are still alive
