The New World

by Arlene Remy   Nov 22, 2006

I am searching for a reason for existence
the hidden purpose that we breathe
living the life of the economic animal
the more we get the more we need
Using our minds to build some version of paradise
to satisfy our appetite for lust
focused on killing the original planet
cause there is nothing in it to trust

erasing the need for normal emotion
and replace it with logical thoughts
not sure where we are going but cant turn back
not after the battle had been fought
so we set up the field to begin the battle
which we thought we had already won
to protect ourselves from further heartbreak
we pretend we are having fun

But man has no idea what they are doing
don't they think there is a reason for trees
a reason for animals and the sky
a reason for the ocean and the seas
but instead we seek to destroy them
and claim their beauty's in the past
so we'll rebuild our own little paradise
made of concrete steel and glass
