You died for me.

by katie   Nov 23, 2006

You say you will be back from this war of hatred and love
You would came back and get me from the mother I never know
That day was the last day of seeing you smile with in your uniform
The bomb hit home in my heart
They said you died fighting for three people that meant the world to you
You killed only one man from harming a child no less than two
And ended up getting killed by a bomb just heeding into base camp.
I ran into the ran covered with sadness and nothing more then 500 shed tears
I felt warmth rather than cold because I knew you were there but couldn't be seen.
Mom is trying to be you but I rather just have her pay the bills and not care of how I feel.
I miss you so much. I hear other families have mothers, fathers and children come back from being in Iraq for more than two years.
My prays never came true nether did your sons Greg and Mike
You remain as a memory in the distant sky of New York.
You fought for a cause that all must fear.
The thing I always think of is that you died fighting
You died for me to live free.
