Don't Jump

by MeganLeigh   Nov 23, 2006

37 stories up a girl dangles her feet
Someone read her diary, the ultimate defeat,
A secret book filled with suicide poems and letters of self hate
Now they know her darkest thoughts and she decides her fate.

She stands on the edge and looks all the way down
By now she sees there has formed a crowd,
A tear rolls down her cheek as she hears someone say
We love you and if you don't jump, we'll be there for you every day.

That's all she needed to hear and she quickly changed her mind
She turned around and wiped her tear and let out a light sigh,
But as she went to leave the roof she lost her footing on the ledge
And the girl who decided to save her life, tumbled over the edge.
