Sitting here writing a love poem
Made with heart, not words
Thought of with love, not brains
Leaving a kiss, not a bruise
I can't seem to find him out there
My night in shining armor
As long as he doesn't turn out to be a weirdo in aluminum foil
I think I'll be OK
Sympathy, is all I need
Does he think of me?
He's only crossed my mind once
He's never left it
He's won a lot of stuff all right
He won a soccer trophy
He won a writing contest
He won a spotlight nomination
He won a place in my heart
As long as he never leaves
I'll survive
I'm just waiting for him to call back
It's only been a few minutes
But to me, a few minutes with him is a lifetime
There, I guess my poem's done
I hope I left a kiss, not a bruise
