Drink you off my mind

I feel the need to drink
to get you off my mind
I want to numb the feelings
and forget all our good times.

I don't want to remember the promises
or the plans that we've made
not the good times or the bad
I want it all to fade.

It's now thanksgiving
and I never even heard your voice
I waited by the phone all day
seems you've made your choice.

I guess I'll chalk this up
as another hurtful loss
what the hell, it was
only my heart at cost.

Down another drink
in hopes to change the mood
do whatever it takes
to get me over you.
