Love's Control

by Caitlin   Nov 24, 2006

What I am now isn't what I used to be
Everything I had been was taken from me
There used to be a time when this frown was a smile
There used to be a time when I wasn't so in denile
There was a time when I was never alone
And friends and loved ones swarmed my home
There was a time when my heart held no pain
And there was a time when I had so much to gain
The words I once spoke are now kept inside
Because the love I suggested was completely denied
What we once were will never exist again
And I could drown in the "what could've been"
I was attracted by love's disquise
And it dug a hole for my heart's suicide
Because of him, I have nothing to give, no soul
It goes to show what happens when you fall under love's control
In regret, I'll live and die
For every hello brings just another goodbye
