A bright red tear

It's louder than a cry
it's quieter than a scream
a bright red tear that never goes away
marked across her wrist
covered in pretty black lace
a blade hidden in her purse
mommy doesn't know
pills are her life
her escape from bills, a daughter, and life
daddy is a drunk
a day without a drink,
is a day without breath
there is a feeling deep inside
it lingers, and never goes
late at night, while everyone sleeps
she sees the devil cover her wrist
she wants him gone, and sits and cuts
after a couple deep slices
he seems to go away
but soon enough, he will be back
for once she would just like
to hear the words
i love you
but what a fantasy that is
so now she is covered in pretty black lace
marked across her wrist
there is a bright red tear
that never seems to go away
its quieter than a scream
louder than a cry

louder than a cry
quieter than a scream

quieter than a scream
louder than a cry

louder than a cry
quieter than a scream

quieter than a scream
louder than a cry
