A hopeless wish
that doesn't come true
a helpless soul
with nothing to do
it is broken and torn
a heart that cannot mend
the feelings that were real
for sure it was not pretend
a mind that is scarred
a wound that will not close
confusing emotions
that we both chose
words that were left unspoken
or perhaps not thought of
lead to unfortunate things
and shook the feelings of love
