Art of Memory

by Bored One   Nov 25, 2006

What is the past good for when the present is here?
Some look into it and often cheer,
What I see is a lonely horror,
And with memories there is no magic restorer,

In my heart I know I cannot run from what I was,
And my newly sculpted life the past is all a fuzz,
I may not like it but that once was me,
And now I can no longer look back and see,

All I have now is great,
But I don't know how good it was because of my memory's gate,
When I try to reach back into the past all that is found,
Is no more than a songs familiar sound.
