Feelings diminished

A boy that didn't know
what to say
undecided and lost
who thought the world must pay

for all his actions
and all his words
they weren't enough
or as good as hers

a girl that didn't know
how to feel
scared and frightened
who thought it couldn't be real

for how hard she tried
and for a fee
it wasn't good enough
and couldn't make him see

he was happy
he smiled like a fool
he thought it was real
or was he used like a tool

he thought all was well
unknowing and unsuspecting
for him things would turn for the worst
it wasn't what he was expecting

she was unsure
confused and troubled
for her things were different
her feelings crumbled

the boy didn't know what to say
the girl expected too much
it did not last
their lips barely touched

he couldn't keep up
the blame was on him
for he was hard to get through to
his idea of perfect was whim

he loved it
she stopped it
it is over
his feelings split

it didn't matter anymore
they were finished
nothing more said
the feelings diminished
