Our Impending End

by Tripp   Nov 26, 2006

We gotta live one day at a time
they acting like my life is a crime
it's ridiculous, the bigotry that I see
why can't they instead, show empathy

Man-kind is degrading and devolving
going down in a death spiral, revolving
each day we get worse and worse
too bad there ain't a large enough hearse

The world is starting to go insane
and I no longer even wanna remain
I'll keep fighting until my last breath
and even then, fight against my death

Those guys all want me lying dead
it'll take more than the words they've said
I'm here, and I'm here to stay
if they don't like it, leave then they may

I don't care what others think of me
I'll ignore them, and be what I wanna be
In the face of this doom, I'll stand tall
I'll fight against it all, even if I must crawl

I'll fight against our impending end
even if backwards I'll be forced to bend
I don't really care, what I must do
as long as I see that we live this through

The determination and feeling you put into it made it awesome. 5/5

Tripp, sweetie. This was freaking AWESOME. I liked how you used words no one really uses... like impending and bigotry. Yuh know? You're great!! I totally loved this poem. Well done.
