Little Juanito

Little Juanito

Slowly Slaying.
His souls decaying.
Poisoned by the potion
Of a criminal mind playing.

A growing seed.
At the age of thirteen.
Not sure of his wants,
But the thugs that he sees.

An everyday scene,
Becomes a life wanting dream.
For Little Juanitos eyes that are shown
The gangster theme.

The head of the barrio
Is his highest role model.
He notices little Juanito hanging
And acting like a vato.

He approaches the little dreamer.
Says Sup Little man.
Looking up, Juanitos heart
Is pumping as fast as it can.

I got a mission for you,
On the other side of town.
Juantio grew excited and said
Yeah Im down!

Lets take my ride.
Ill explain inside.
Juanito jumped in
All hyped for the drive.

His mind was racing,
All itching for the tasting.
Ready to overcome
Any mission he was facing.

Look here Juanito.
The vato had spoke.
You have a lot of heart,
And I see so much hope.

Juanito eyed him.
Didnt pay attention to the road.
Look little Juanito,
This mission is tough as it grows.

But you gotta be down.
See it through all the way.

I aint weak! Juanito said.
Not now or any day!

Good! said the vato,
As he pulled his car to the curb.
Juanito looked out the window,
saw his school,
then the vato said Learn.

I really like these poems that arise from places that reflect our society or a specific lifestyle. They always offer views that many others don't have. A good job here.
