Her Best Friend

by TRAGiC BEAUTY   Nov 26, 2006

"Daddy, you're my best friend"
She'd tell her dad each day
He'd smile and say "forever
I'll always be here, never away"

She started getting older
She still stuck by her dad
Every single day thinking
About the fun times they once had

"Daddy, you're my best friend"
She still told her dad each day
He'd smile and say "forever
I'll always be here, never away"

Soon, she got a boyfriend
They went out each night
She'd get all dressed up
She was a beautiful sight

Her daddy would smile
As she walked out the door
Though she was getting older
Everyday he'd love her more

The day her prom came along
Her daddy started to cry
"Daddy, what's wrong?" she'd ask
"I'm just so happy I could die"

"Daddy, you're my best friend"
She told her dad that day
He'd smile and say "forever
I'll always be here, never away"

He smiled as she started to leave
She turned and kissed his cheek
It started with a silent tear
Turned into a water leak

She came back from the prom
Happy as someone could be
She had the biggest smile
But, still, she ran to her daddy

"Daddy, you're my best friend"
She told her dad that day
He'd smile and say "forever
I'll always be here, never away"
