The American Soldiers

by James   Nov 27, 2006

The day dawned and subsided
Without the slightest look
Of men ravaging their brothers kin
Just like in our books

They fight for what they're told is right
And carry their gun proudly
What they dont know is that the fight
Will end abrupt and loudly.

When they rest the talk
About being back at home
And being able to freely walk
Unlike this ghastly catacomb

They long for the day when it will end
But still stare on ahead
For they know it will be worth it when
Their flag flies overhead

And when they come back home to us
Some limping and some well
Theyll tell us stories about war
And how its living hell.
