The Light

The Light

I'm sitting here in the darkness,

When what do I see?

A ray of light shining in on me?

A ray of light after all the pain?

Could there be help for me?

They say God won't give you more than you can bear.

I definitely have had my share!

I lost so much, I've sat in the dark for so long.

Tears and depression seems like all I've known.

I've cried everyday for a year.

A bird singing is that what I hear?

The rustle of the wind blowing in the trees?

Are those sounds just for me?

Am I suppose to let myself smile?

I guess I could ,for it's been awhile!

The light is getting bigger,

Could God have plans for me?

Am I here for my son?

Or my grand-daughter whose heart I've won?

Am I here to help others? Who are like me?

Who sit in the darkness waiting to see.

Am I here for my mother ,sisters and brothers?

To give them all love one way or another?

The light is all around me now.

I think I understand, what I was left for.

God wants me, to show others how to endure.

Pain, suffering, depression galore.

How to get through it and come out on top!

If you look hard enough, the sadness will stop!

If you look hard enough, you can find the light in the dark.

All you have to do is open your heart!
