My eighteenth birthdays getting close

by Gem   Nov 28, 2006

My eighteenth birthdays getting close
I can't help but wonder if
It's too much to hope you'll send
A birthday card or gift

I got a card for my sixteenth
Although it was four months late
But it's because you are my mom
It's so hard for me to hate

You never send me letters
Never an email or phone call
You missed out on all the milestones
Built up an invisible wall

I hate waiting by the phone
Or sifting through the post
Waiting to hear a word from you
Is what i hate the most

My eighteenth birthdays getting close
I wonder if you even know
Your first daughter is nearly an adult
And she didn't need you to grow ©

This is sad! I feel soo bad for you...Living without a mother, must be really tough! If it makes you write poems like this.....

Guhh it breaks my heart reading this...Hmm, not sure if you want sympathy or not hunnii so I'm not sure whether or not to give it, but honestly, seems like you grew up just fine without a mother...Look at you! Your a great person, but I do know the pain of missing someone you wish you can be close too whether you knew them or not....I liked your rhymes! Good write Gem!
