Cadence Blue

by Kalyan Ky   Nov 28, 2006

Cadence blue
emotionally drained
a distracting blur
to that unspoilt name,

purring

pouring

left light stains
on that patterned carpet
in that peachy painted room.

That gloom and that tone,
that voice and that voice;
that face that remains

Unstained, unstained.

And you loved him,
when he said your name.

when he called your name,
and looked and looked at you.

And opened you
with a fork and a knife
And opened you
with a song and a poem.

You sang
With soul
His pleasant name,

and watched his hand
drag, drag,
You over there
To a fairyland
And you lost yourself
Amongst the mist

From a travelling monkey
to a straying abyss
