A Life Apart

by debbylyn   Nov 28, 2006

Each time you leave,
You take a piece of me with you.
That part of my heart that makes me alive.
Oh, I live still.
I must,
Because I wake and walk and breathe.
But that part of my heart that you take holds my joy.
The lackluster days drag on
In endless monotony,
Each the same as the last.
And my time is measured
In lots of loneliness
That pass as months
Spent missing you.

    I really like this part.
The entire poem has unique sense to it which makes for a wonderfully interesting read.

I like to sometimes go to a poet/poetess first poems and read .... perhaps just for my own curiousity. I don't know .... lol ... but I like to read the poems the writer's have posted as their first .

A definite heart tugger this one is ...
    Well done sweets, well done

    This poem breathes sadness.....
You have a way of putting feeling in words that just hit the heart.
Its the loneliness that comes out....

    another touching poem....
