Hand on a dying heart

by HopefulxRomantic   Nov 28, 2006

"I don't love you anymore,"
"I can't live without you anymore,"

"I think it's better,"
"I couldn't imagine worse,"

"This is too much,"
"And yet I crave more,"

"I'm sorry I lied to you,"
"I'm sorry that I'm lying to you now,"

"I hope we can still be friends,"
"Don't leave me,"

"I only want what's best for you,"
"I couldn't stand to see myself hurting you,"

"I'm sure you'll find someone else,"
"because I'm not worthy of being with you."

"I imagined it would never end,"
"even though it shouldn't end now."

"I can't love you anymore."
"but I'll never stop."

"Goodbye."
"I'm scared."

The message behind this poem is simply that our hearts do not speak. Out of fear and out of love people will mask their true emotions, no matter how true to the other person they may be.
