My Prayer

I pray to you my God above
To keep from harm the one I love.
Keep him always near your heart
And let us never grow apart.

His life is mine and mine is his,
For he's the reason that I live.
Help him through what comes his way
Keep him safe each passing day.

Let his days be long and blessed,
Filled with peace and happiness.
Let life be kind and let him know
No days of grief or deep sorrow.

Let sunshine fill his future years
To light the dark and dry the tears.
Let there always be someone to lend a helping hand.
Let there always be someone who can understand.

Let him always have someone;
Wherever he may be.
Let those someones he will need be always found in me.
