The Love That Stars Resisted

by Twisted Heart   Dec 1, 2006

We've come full circle, you and I
Upon the shadowed moon
We've fought the battle of our lives
To the beat of different tunes.

We've found a comfort in ourselves
That only we alone can see
And tarried much too long beside
The ocean of our broken dreams.

Our thoughts have lingered in the past
Forever lost inside our minds
Our souls have lost the will to fight
Or maybe, we don't have the time.

Somewhere along the path that lead us
Strangers, we, have now become
Among the heartaches that have fed us
We've nurtured pain like we did our young.

We've sipped the wine of bitterness
Until our lives have lost the hold
Among the ache of life's unkindness
We've wrestled down our broken souls.

Now here we stand, upon the brink
And though our hearts persisted
We face the anger and the pain
Of the love that stars resisted.

A beautiful poem , the 4 th stanza hits incredibly hard inside my delicate mind. Cheers to your work and congratulations on #200, a milestone for which makes this poem much more special. Tim
