Our woods

by Sharlene   Dec 1, 2006

The cold air slapped me in face and my mind still did not clear
Icy winds turn my nose red and I still dream of you here
I close my eyes and make it dark and still can see your face
Seem all the times I was with you that was my happy place
I walked through out that glossy wood so whit now from the snow
Seem now that you are gone away our past these woods now show
That oak tree wears our name so proud those bushes wear our shape
That tree trunk it still stands so tall like when we climbed it like an ape
And those berry bushes that are now dead use to feed our mouth so sweet
And I canâ??t forget that old green gate where we use to always meet
Now I stare at these objects with a smile and at the same time shed a tear
Because as I stand here all alone I wish that you was here
Here to reminisce with me to hold me as I cry
To watch the times we loved so much replay inside my eye
To make old memories come to life to miss me like I miss you
These woods here are our story board that plays a dream so true
I love these woods because of you your smell lives in the breeze
And when it hits me that your gone all I can do is freeze
